Dancing on the Sea
04:04
|
|||
In your smile a saw a light and you were shining all around
When you shone that light on me, it took me ten feet off the ground
Took me ten feet off the ground
Shine your light on me, shine your light
Shine you light for all to see… shine your light on me
In your voice I heard the sound of laughter and of joyful song
Loving gentle sparkling tones, that lingered with me all day long
They lingered with me all day long
Come and sing to me.. come and sing for me
Come and sing with me.. we’ll go dancing on the sea.
In your face I saw the world and traveled to a distant place
Of villages with children blessed within the beauty of your grace
Within the beauty of your grace
Shine your light on me , Come and sing with me
We’ll going dancing on the sea
In your eyes I saw a dream
you were dancing on the sea
In your eyes I saw a light
come and shine your light on me
In your eyes I saw a dream and you were dancing on the sea
With laughing children all around, the gifts you gave them set them free
The gifts you gave them set them free
Come and dance with me , come and dance for me
Come and dance , We’ll go dancing on the sea.
How could anyone , say that you are anything but beautiful

Fullness of Time
04:28
|
|||
looking out across the water on reflections of the day
that hard to find peace of mind may be coming back my way
this summer breeze and seaside tease and waves that feel so fine
a stolen glance a second chance in the fullness of time
i fill my eyes with clear blue skies and feel the freedom in the air
i just spent next month’s rent i can’t bring myself to care
maybe now i’ve learned how to let go of what ain’t mine
now i’m one step closer to that fullness of time
but oh how many years it took
oh how many tears it took
lines i wrote that never seemed to rhyme
but there’s an end to looking back
there’s a new plan of attack
recent understanding of the fullness of time
the sound of wonder’s so loud i can’t hear my inner voice
but it keeps rolling through my head like i don’t have a choice
so i get to wondering if this voice is even mine
or do i hear the echoes of the fullness of time
some insist i’ve somehow missed the point of all this strife
messengers of misery who complicate my life
i think i’ll pass, no really please and thanks i’m doing fine
i just stumbled headlong into the fullness of time

Counting Waves
05:10
|
|||
Counting waves, counting tears, counting days, counting years
Counting words and ways and loves and lives
Days until that day arrives
When all the things that I have seen
And all the places I have been
Become the road that I am on that lead me to where I belong
Standing on this fortress shore that whispers to me cry no more
Cast your cares and sorrows to the sea - Counting Waves
Counting waves, counting tears, counting days, counting years
Counting time and time that marches on
Dreams I dreamed that now are gone
Wondering what I’m sent here for
So certain that there must be more
Finding strength to bear this load
And finding hope to walk this road
Standing on this fortress shore that whispers to me cry no more
Cast your cares and sorrows to the sea - Counting Waves
“And he that counteth forty waves, while repeating: 'God is Most Great!' -- exalted be He -- God will forgive his sins, both past and future."
Counting waves, counting tears, counting days, counting years
Counting brothers, sisters, children friends
Can I count on love that never ends
Times I’ve asked the question why
A million stars that fill our sky
The one that I saw fall to earth
That sang to me of my rebirth
Standing on this fortress shore that whispers to me cry no more
Cast your cares and sorrows to the sea - Counting Waves

Carry Me Home
03:13
|
|||
Sun rising slow in a wind swept sky
Spirits soar over mountains high
Drawn to this glory like birds we fly
Carry me home in your love
Baha’u’llah
Abdu’l-Baha
Allah’u’abha
Carry me home in your love
Over her hills and rivers wide
Sailing for shore on a rising tide
Safe to the harbour with you my guide
Carry me home in your love
Concourse calls through the wind blown trees
Whispering souls on an ocean breeze
A voice I hear calling softly, "please
Carry me home in your love"
When we come to this journey's end
Hearts and souls to Thee commend
Borne on the songs of beloved friends
Carry me home in your love
Baha’u’llah
Abdu’l-Baha
Allah’u’abha
Carry me home in your love

Chains
04:40
|
|||
Blind man standing at the intersection
she stops and offers some direction
but she don't know where he wants to go
she doesn't understand
she has the say but he leads the way
as he takes her by the hand
Sirens wailing, rain is falling
people dying, children calling
standing proud and talking loud
trying hard to hide your fear
but no one sees you there at all
no one has the ears to hear
and if I could tear these chains away I would
if I could tear these chains away I would
if I could
Traffic line spews filth and wealth down bay street
frozen homeless faceless tears and cold feet
fortunes made bills to be paid you'll have to stand in line
settle down, you'll have your chance just as soon as I get mine
and if I could tear these chains away I would
if I could tear these chains away I would
if I could
Sabres rattle into battle
spread some misery
starving faces, shadows, traces
of long lost dignity
still you fight, you know you're right
but look who's on your side
burning down your own home town
now where you gonna' hide
and if I could tear these chains away I would
if I could tear these chains away I would
if I could
Did you see this coming
did you know what we had in store
chained in darkness spirit crashing
against a bolted door
revelation shaking earth implodes to kingdom come
rage against the specter of another dying son
and if I could tear these chains away I would
if I could tear these chains away I would
if I could
and if I could tear your chains away I would
if I could tear your chains away I would
if I could

Sound Song
04:30
|
|||
Hear the sound taking flight
hear the word transform the darkness into light
hear the children laugh and play
and echo his delight at dawn's first light of day
can you hear the children's voices
as a whole new world rejoices in the day
hear the song the great whales keep
creations harmony within the deep
the song bird sings, the eagle cries
from the earth I hear a mighty song arise
can you hear creation's voices
as a whole new world rejoices in the day
the lightning cracks, the skies they part
I can hear so clear the beating of your heart
the whistling wind, the rustling leaves
the swirling churning raging crashing seas
can you hear the raging voices
as a whole new world rejoices in the day
but the hungry weep, the guns still fire
defiantly we call the truth a liar
but truth remains fixed to this goal
and whispers hope anew into my soul
whispers hope anew into my soul
whispers hope for me, whispers hope for you
whispers hope anew into my soul
can you hear the whispering voices
as a whole new world rejoices in the day
I can hear the whispering voices
as a whole new world rejoices in the day
the artists eyes, the poets phrase
connect us to the glorious ancient of days
I hear the voice, I hear the call
I can hear so clear the glory of it all
Can you hear the children's voices
as a whole new world rejoices in the day
can you hear creations voices
as a whole new world rejoices in the day
I can hear the whispering voices
as a whole new world rejoices in the day
I can hear the raging voices
as a whole new world rejoices in the day
I can hear, I can hear, I can hear a whole new day

Abdu'l Baha
04:01
|
|||
Eyes that watch this river run, slowly to the sea
Now this place where you once stood, is calling out to me
Eyes that call me to the cause and to a brand new day
Empowered by their passion to find a better way
Would that I could gaze upon, the things that you have seen
Would that I could follow in the places you have been
Abdul’Baha, Abdul’Baha
Just a glimpse of glory you have seen
Eyes that bear such fury, fan the flames of this wildfire
Yet mirror the compassion of this broken heart’s desire
Would that I could gaze upon, the things that you have seen
Would that I could follow in the places you have been
Abdul’Baha, Abdul’Baha
Just a glimpse of glory you have seen
Your eyes see all the sorrow this old world has ever known
But cradled in their gentle glow, I do not feel alone
Would that I could gaze upon, the things that you have seen
Would that I could follow in the places you have been
Abdul’Baha, Abdul’Baha
Just a glimpse of glory I have seen

Truth be Known
05:22
|
|||
you know they’re asking for one with warts and all a simple song sung from the heart
truth be known i’m afraid to look inside and i don’t know where to start
i suppose i could tell them all the truth that there ain’t no secret code
truth be known it’s been such a long long time and i’m too far down the road
the good and bad of a life of hanging on
wins and losses all get blurred
it seemed to be so important way back when
now the lines are all obscured
i suppose i could start another round
of trying to find the reason why
truth be known there’s no reason to be found
so i’m not even going to try
there’s a child whose dreams are coming true
and one whose truth is told in dreams
truth be known they’re the reason that i breathe
and have been all my life it seems
i suppose i should count my blessings then
instead of banking on the past
truth be known time can turn wise men to fools
who think anything can last
so i wonder if there’s something i might say
that could lighten someone’s load
just a word or two to help them on their way
from someone too far down the road
ain’t it funny how things turn out in the end
how purpose redefines a man
i hope you understand, i need to hear you laugh
just to know that someone can
i suppose i could tell them all the truth
that there ain’t no secret code
there’s just the time we spend with we chose to love
as we travel down the road

Family
04:07
|
|||
I had hope for every dream you had
I shed tears for when it all went bad
I celebrated every time you won
And when at last the day was done
I prayed for each and everyone
That God would smile on all you’ve done
I’ve seen joy and I’ve seen sorrow
In my children’s eyes, I can see tomorrow
Faith and hope and love these shall remain
I’ve kissed your soft cheek while you slept
I’ve held you in my arms and wept
And in my heart these things I’ve kept
Your light is the love I see
you are the world to me
you are my family
And when I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord your souls to keep
and that you’ll rise to greet a brand new day
that you’ll grow to be strong and true
and shine God’s light on all you do
that love will always see you thru
Your light is the love I see
you are the world to me
you are my family
Thru this struggle I have learned to live
In failing I’ve learned to forgive
in falling I have learned to rise again
I’ve watched you when things fell apart
I’ve watched you make a brand new start
I’ve loved you still with all my heart
Your light is the love I see
you are the world to me
you are my family
I’ve watched you fly, I’ve watched you fall
I’ve watched you dream dreams great and small
Thru the hardest times, thru the finest years
And looking back on these our days
With shining eyes and hearts ablaze
You’ve shown me in so many ways
That you are my family.
you are the world to me
you are my family

Cry now if you will restless tiny child
I will sing a lullaby soft and sweet and mild
Rest sweet child of mine, in a world where all is new
Know the one who formed your cries is watching over you
Tell us if you can, where have you been so long
In what secret place was formed the heart that beats out your life song
Rest sweet child of mine, in a world where all is new
Know the one who formed your heart is watching over you
These tender wrinkled hands grasp at all things new
As we prayed your smile was made and your eyes were painted blue
Rest sweet child of mine, in a world where all is new
Know the one who formed your hands is holding on to you
Ten thousand years he gathered stars with which to light your eyes
Transformed the mighty ocean wind into your softest sighs
Rest sweet child of mine, in a world where all is new
Know the one who formed your eyes is watching over you
He alone this life did give, and made your being whole
Took my joy and hope and prayers and tears
And formed of these your soul
Rest sweet child of mine, in a world where all is new
Know the one who formed your soul lives on inside of you

Singing the Spirit Home
06:05
|
|||
They came for him in the morning, an hour before dawning
The pale white moon was waning in the African sky
The cell door flew wide open, they stood looking at him
He saw no mercy in their hearts, no pity in their eyes
As they took him and they bound him, tied his trembling hands behind him
He felt his courage leave him, his manhood disappear
His legs would not support him, so from the cell they dragged him
He sobbed and screamed and cursed them in his loneliness and fear
Chains, chains, chains, How many souls have died in freedom's name
To some it is a way of life, to others just a word
To some it is a snow-white dove, to some a bloody sword
But until the last chains fall, freedom will make slaves of us all
With faces closed and hidden the white guards walked beside him
Indifferent to his pleading - they'd been down this path before
But other eyes were watching, other ears were listening
Other hearts beat with him in his final desperate hour
From the darkness of that prison came the sound of his brothers singing
Courage, their voices told him, you do not walk alone
From their cells beyond the shadow he heard their voices echo
As in love and pride and sorrow they sang his spirit home
Chains, chains, chains, How many souls have died in freedom's name
To some it is a way of life, to others just a word
To some it is a snow-white dove, to some a bloody sword
But until the last chains fall, freedom will make slaves of us all
Their song of hope and freedom, it rang inside that prison
It beat against the iron bars and crashed against the stone
As in their fear and hate they hung him, the last sound that filled his being
Was his brothers singing, singing his spirit home
Courage, brother, you do not walk alone
We shall walk with you and sing your spirit home
